ServerOptional for players
A craftable Storage Backpack that you set down and fill like a 48-slot chest. Break it up close and it goes back into your inventory as a Storage Backpack (Packed). Place that one again and everything is back inside.
The server keeps the contents, so nothing is lost or duplicated.

10 leather, 20 cloth, and 2 duct tape, with no workbench. It has 100 HP.
Break it with a melee tool or your fists. It goes back into your inventory as a Storage Backpack (Packed) if it had things in it, or a plain one if it was empty. The server holds what was inside. A private chat message says what was packed and unpacked.
Place the Packed backpack and your stored contents come back, newest first if you packed more than one. Quality, durability, mods, dyes, and ammo counts are all kept.
A zombie, an explosion, or a gun that doesn't harvest drops it as a Storage Backpack (Packed) with the contents inside. Whoever places that one gets them. It lasts 24 hours on the ground.
A packed backpack can't go inside another one. If one is inside when you break a backpack, it drops next to it, still packed. Empty backpacks are plain items and can go inside.
They don't stack, can't be sold to traders, and can't be scrapped. Contents that went back to your inventory are yours: a friend who places your Packed backpack gets an empty one. A Packed backpack dropped on the ground belongs to whoever places it.
Each pack is saved on the server under an id, and an id can unpack only once, so copying an item can't copy its contents. Unpacked records are deleted after 7 days.
